Hello Leyth. Thanks for taking the time to reach out. Applying somatics in businesses and with teams is a bold move that is deeply needed in business in general. I am intrigued that you are stepping into the realm and curious about how you came to your questions. Can somatic coaching be used in a team environment? I am not sure whether you mean virtually (Teams via Microsoft) or in an actual team . I use somatics in both virtual meetings and in actual teams. How can it be used depends on the team. Breathwork - pausing to a take a moment of silence and focus on the breath - is a somatic practice. I use this regularly with teams adjusting the length of pause to match what I intuit the team can sustain without going over the edge of their window of tolerance. For more robust practices that include moving together and assessing somatic resonance, I take into consideration the length of time I have been working with them, the level of trust they have with me, the potential trauma field of the group, their comfort with the practice listed above, and their willingness to engage in somatic practices with me individually. The how is nuanced as you can see. I am happy to be in further conversations about this with you, just ping me - tracy[at]mccarthyrekart.com. If you are looking to expand your practice and explore somatics and business, the Strozzi Institute is a great place to start. I look forward to connecting and learning how you apply somatics.
